If Android Studio can’t figure out which import you need (which it has got much better at doing recently), it will turn the text red. When typing away, you may need an import that you haven’t included yet. It’s also very helpful in auto-generating the necessary imports you need. A small menu will pop up with what you can do. To see what it can do, put your cursor at different places, or highlight words or lines, and press the key combination. The keyboard shortcut Alt + Enter does a lot and is extremely useful.
